Welcome to the Cobtree Scottish Dancing Group Website.
Scottish Country Dancing is fun and combines both physical and mental exercise. You don’t need a partner, special clothing or equipment to get started, just soft shoes.
We meet on Wednesday evening from 7.45 until 10 pm throughout the year at Grove Green Community Hall.
Meetings with workshop sessions start at 7.30 pm.
Weekly Meetings
Our weekly programme of dances is devised by our team of m/cs.
When Elaine Lloyd, a RSCDS teacher, is m/c, she runs a technique workshop to help us enjoy our dancing more by dance better.
We are a social dancing group concentrating on enjoying dancing.
Visitors and new members are always welcome at our club nights.
We try to make the evening interesting with dances ranging from old favourites to some new or less familiar dances.
We would welcome suggestions for dances to include in our programmes to give them more pizzazz or just because you like the dance.

Dances
Each year we hold two dances and a Christmas party for members.
2026
In 2026 our No Haggis Dance will be on the afternoon of 14th February.
This dance is now sold out please ask to join the waiting list.
The summer dance will be on Saturday 20th June.
We will be dancing to music provided by Ian Muir of Prestwick.
This dance is sold out.
Our Christmas Party/Dance for members and invited guests is on Wednesday 16th December.
2027
In 2027 our No Haggis Dance will be on the afternoon of 13th February.
The summer dance will be earlier in the year on Saturday 22nd May.
We will be dancing to music provided by Chris and Julie Dewhurst.

AGM
The 2026 AGM will be held on Wednesday 15th April at 7.45pm.
After the meeting there will be dancing until 10pm as usual.

Weekly Subs
The weekly subscription is £4 (2026-27)
Alternatively members may pay £100 for the whole year including annual membership.
This may be paid in 2 instalment. (2026-27)
Annual Membership 2026-27
The Annual Membership subscription should be paid between June and December.
The rate is £4.
